Tahiti and Guatemala International September 14,2010

After having the August off, Charmaine Reid and I were invited to play in the Tahiti International. The conditions in the hall were very hot and humid hitting 36c, good thing it is the cool time of the year now. As I had a tough draw in the singles I was defeated in the quarter finals, in women's doubles I won the silver medal. On the weekend we had a fantastic Guatemala International. The championships were held in Guatemala City with 168 entries and 18 countries taken part in the tournament. We played very well during the week, I think we played some of our best doubles and did not give our opponents a chance. Our first round we had a bye then in the 1/16 we defeated Vilma Phongasavitas & Panita Phongasavitas USA 21-4, 21-10, in the quarter finals we defeated Spain, Noelia Jimenez & Paula Rodriguez 21-16, 21-9, semi finals Grace Gao & Joycelyn Ko Canada 21-13, 21-11 and in the finals we defeated Christina Aicardi & Claudia Rivero Peru 21-4 21-8.
I also went on to win the singles title against Rena Wang USA 21-12, 21-13 which was great. We are off again to a tournament in New York on Friday.
All the best,
